EAT CLEAN!
It has been four months since my last post and over the past four months I am pretty sure I have put on 20 pounds. I am avoiding the scale but I know that my clothes are starting to fit tight.
I know it's not impossible to nurse an infant and lose weight but for me I just CAN'T! I can't even be away from her without a week of planning to pump pump pump non stop. I read that nursing helped you lose weight... WRONG. It makes it impossible to go to the gym!
I pinned several mommy and me work outs a few weeks ago. Guess what? Haven't done one. I have a stationary bike in my closet. Guess what? Haven't used it. I decided that I wasn't going to freak out about the exercise part until after I am done nursing because its just too hard. (for me anyway)
Its an exhausting and time consuming activity that stinking nursing. When I have free time (which is rare) I want to enjoy my break and not use it to work out. HONESTY So besides working out what is something I can do to get my body healthy? Go back to the clean eating.
I stopped eating clean when my pregnant self craved Whataburger and Chocolate all the time and now its a habit again. I have been pinning healthy foods all week and really trying to get myself back into the mindset of craving fruit and veggies rather than fatty or sugary options. This morning my adorable husband offered to go get donuts now that I can eat dairy again and while I was thinking "OH MY GOD YES!" I decided I wanted to be healthy and made whole wheat apple pecan pancakes. I didn't even miss the donuts and they were much more filling and tasted like "OH MY GOD YES!"
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup milk (I used almond)
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup diced peeled apple (I used honey crisp)
1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans
It made a total of six delicious chunky pancakes!
I topped them with some sauteed apple chunks and more pecans and cinnamon syrup.
OMG HEAVEN
For lunches I have been trying to eat healthy wraps. Here are a few creations I have had lately.
Peanut butter, honey, cinnamon, bananas, strawberries, chia, and oats.
Roasted sweet potatoes, chicken, black beans, and goat cheese
Leftover jerk chicken and roasted sweet potatoes
So here we go again! No more putting crappy food in my body. Time to start being aware of what I am eating and holding myself accountable by being consistent with my blog posts. I am really concerned with what I feed my baby and giving her great healthy eating habits when she really starts eating solids so I need to have the same rules for my own body because she's already watching!
