#whole30life

I keep thinking about waffles I won't lie. OMG crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, lots of warm maple syrup and butter. DROOOOOOOOL I will be eating Waffles this month. What kind of life is a life with no waffles ever again? #NOPE The great thing about whole30 is it is NOT whole365! So I have decided to eat whole30 until November 25th. November 25th I am making waffles, or cinnamon rolls, or french toast. Some kind of yummy sweet breakfast item. November 25th-28th  I will be off whole30. Starting November 29th I will go back on a whole30. I am also planning on doing three 5ks during the months of November and December! This past week I have had some GREAT food. sweet potato and kale hash with bacon and eggs  acorn squash topped with sausage, brussels, apples, onions, raisins, pecans, cinnamon and sage  roasted broccoli and baked tilapia  sausage, roasted potatoes, and sautéed green beans  stuffed acorn squash with that

Totally Awesome

I finished my full thirty day round on Tuesday! I am currently THREE pounds away from my big goal. I will be 80 pounds down from my highest weight and I will weigh less than I have weighed in the past 17 years. HANG ON let that sink in...... SEVENTEEN YEARS! For seventeen years I have been morbidly obese. It took me my whole teenage life and my twenties to realize that being healthy is important as we get older. It took having a child to raise and teach to make me change, and now that I have consistently been making those changes for the past eight months it has become a habit and my new lifestyle. I never want to go back to being unhealthy. I have two beautiful little toddler eyes watching and learning from me and that is motivation to set a good example. So I am continuing my whole30 until Thanksgiving. I decided since Thanksgiving is going to be full of family and food and I don't want to feel bad about eating pie or cornbread dressing I am going to eat super cl

INSPIRE PEOPLE

Image
In the past few months I have inspired six people to try whole30 (and if you want to count their husbands doing it with them eight people!) Inspiring others to change how they eat is motivation to not stop! I absolutely love whole30 it has completely changed my life. Not only has it helped me lose 65 pounds, but it has helped me to view food differently. I used to binge eat and eat anything and everything that I craved with no care of what it actually contained and what it would do to my body. Whole30 really cleans your body and mind of all those unhealthy habits and when you're not in a whole30 round you are able to consciously decide what you're eating and if it's not whole30 compliant eat it without binging out or losing control. I only have two days in my 30 day round, but like I said in the last post I will probably go beyond the 30 days. This is my second full round and I can say that I will probably be whole30 for life. I will mostly consume compliant

Whole30 Compliant Bars

Image
During my first round of whole30 I ate larabars because they are compliant and while I do like larabars it can get boring eating the same bar over and over again. I usually eat bars as an alternative to eggs for breakfast or if I get REALLY hungry post workout. After round two I saw a lot of Whole30 eaters posting about the RXBar and so i decided to try that. You can only purchase it through Amazon or their website. I like chocolate sea salt and their new flavor pumpkin spice. They are pretty thick and the reason they are preferred to larabars is they have egg whites so they contain 10 grams of protein. Sometimes I want a bar with crunch though. Like a granola bar BUT obviously we can't have oats. Recently I found the Gather bar which is by Thunderbird a company out of Austin. This bar has WAY more nuts and is more granola like. The flavors I have gotten are Pecan Persistence and Superseed Spirit. Today I got three other kinds of bars, two from the same Thunderbird company

ONE WEEK LEFT!

I only have one week left of my second whole30 round. I won't lie - I am very ready for a pumpkin spice latte and some pancakes!   November 7th is the first free Saturday that both my husband and I are off so I am planning on making that an awesome breakfast day and having pumpkin french toast for dayyyyyys.  Today I wore a shirt to the gym I haven't worn in 3 years! It says Fit and Fierce and I really felt like it. I have pushed myself to try harder at the gym and introduce new things. I have added a fourth step up to my box jumps. I have increased all of my weights again. Today I ran 10 minutes again. It is becoming so much easier to jog and I tell myself its easy and I can do it because half of the battle is a mental one. I am signing up to do a 5k on November 14 and then another one on December 5th! I am EXCITED because I think this time I could really get a pretty good time.  "But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will s
