Helping others helps me!
So lately I have been giving motivation and advice to other people who are starting to take note of my lifestyle change and seeing that what I am doing is working. It feels really awesome to be seen as an inspiration by other people. I don't know everything there is to know about being healthy and I certainly have a long way to go before I can really feel that I am an inspiration story but it makes me realize I will be!
When people ask me about being healthy and to give them tips and food thoughts they are actually helping me in return. It keeps me focused when I talk about it with other people. I have a friend at work who is trying to lose weight and tends to ask me about food from time to time. She is trying to do a low carb thing but I know that doesn't work for me so I don't always have a ton of advice for that style of diet other than to remind her "You want to do something you can do for the rest of your life! If you can not eat bread EVER again then go for it. If you know you will then decide on a healthy swap like whole grain high fiber breads and grains."
Having someone at work that brings up health and we have stories to share about trying to do right keeps me motivated!
Also my bestie and I have been texting each other a lot lately to remind each other to stay on track. We text photos of food and pictures of our sweaty mug after a workout. I sent her a photo of my treadmill the other day while I was jogging haha all these things help both of us stay motivated and focused and its working. I am losing weight faster now that I have a support base and people who are doing the same.
My sister-in-law and I are having a girls weekend while our husbands are hunting for labor day and she has been trying to keep their family healthy lately because of a health scare and because their one year old is starting to eat the same foods as them and she wants her to be healthy too. We talked all morning about food and working out. Like right now we are making a list to go to the grocery store and get delicious healthy foods MMMMM craving right now ARTICHOKES! and EGGPLANT :)
I love that I come across as a really serious health fanatic and that people know I am changing my lifestyle because if other people believe it I do too!
